Several events are happening this August in Shelby County.
First, the Shelby County Young Republicans are sponsoring a campaign school Saturday, August 24 at Germantown’s Pickering Center. Open to candidates planning on running for office and their campaign managers, the event will feature experienced campaign experts who will talk about focusing on fundraising and finance, social media, grassroots messaging and messaging.
It will begin at 9 a.m. and include lunch sponsored by the Northeast Shelby Republican Club and run until 1. The charge is $40 for the first participant and $10 for an additional campaign manager.

Sharon Ohsfeldt, Outreach (Party Growth) Committee Chair for ShelbyGOP is asking for volunteers to assist with projects to grow and increase the diversity of our local Republican party.
She writes, “Currently we need volunteers to attend Memphis National Hispanic Professional Organization (NHPO) activities.
The next National Hispanic Professional Organization lunch is Thursday, Aug 8 at the Memphis Hilton. Registration and networking is at 11:30 am; the program is from 12 – 1 pm. Guest speakers are Sally Pace (President Jr League of Memphis and SVP of First TN), and Aubrie Kobernus (Greenprint Initiative / Memphis Area Association of Governments).
Lunch is $25. (Monthly lunches are on the 2nd Thursdays.)
