Yesterday President Obama was in Chattanooga to unveil yet another ridiculous plan for “job growth.” He visited an Amazon distribution center where only Obama supporters were allowed inside.
He didn’t receive an enthusiastic welcome from our state. Senators Corker and Alexander were absent, even though Corker was a former mayor of that city. Gov. Bill Haslam said he had other plans and did not attend. The Tennessee Republican Party ran TV ads pointing out “We’re succeeding in Tennessee. Not because of your liberal policies, but in spite of them.” The Tennessee Campaign for Liberty organized some of the protests and even the Chattanooga Times Free Press was negative. They wrote:
Protesters Line Lee Hwy in Chattanooga, Tennessee as Obama Drives by.
Welcome to Chattanooga, one of hundreds of cities throughout this great nation struggling to succeed in spite of your foolish policies that limit job creation, stifle economic growth and suffocate the entrepreneurial spirit.
Forgive us if you are not greeted with the same level of Southern hospitality that our area usually bestows on its distinguished guests.”
Thank God at least the other end of our state doesn’t participate in Obama worship.
