As fall nears, politics gets in gear.
Tonight the Campaign for Liberty group meets and has a special guest speaker. He is Robert Murphy described as an economist with a sense of humor. God knows an economist needs that nowadays! He has worked for years with the Ludwig von Mises Institute giving lectures and writing books from the layperson’s perspective including “The Politically Incorrect Guide to Capitalism” and “The Politically Incorrect Guide To The Great Depression and The New Deal”. He is the Senior Economist for the Institute for Energy Research in Washington.

Tomorrow night, the East Shelby Club will have its annual Master Meal. Congressman Stephen Fincher will be the guest speaker. Doors open at 5:30 pm. with dinner at 6:30 at the Great , 1900 Germantown Raod. It’s the big money making event for the year for East Shelby and it is used to help our candidates in next year’s election.
On Thursday, the Family Action Council of Tennessee will host “Reducing the violence and crime that impact us all; gangs, violence and hope in Memphis.” It starts at 6:30 for meet and greet/refreshments with the program at 7. It will be at the Bartlett Station Municipal Center, 5868 Stage Road. The guest speakers are Delvin Lane, Community Violence Prevention Supervisor with the Memphis Youth Gun Violence Reduction Initiative and Officer Dustin Stewart
of the Bartlett Police Department.
