Remember when GWB got to the Oval office at 7 a.m.? He expected others to get there early, too, ready to brief him thoroughly on the day’s business.
That’s not the style of President Barack H. Obama. Look at his schedule for today as posted at WhiteHouseDossier:
10:00 am || Receives the Presidential Daily Briefing
11:00 am || Meets with his Cabinet; Cabinet Room
12:30 pm || Lunch with Biden
2:55 pm || Honors the 2013 NBA Champions Miami Heat; East Room
3:30 pm || Meets with the Executive Committee of the National Governors Association; Roosevelt Room
4:45 pm || Meets with Defense Secretary Hagel
5:30 pm || Meets with Maria Shriver to discuss the Shriver Report
He doesn’t even get started til 10 a.m.!
Wonder if they will film him sitting down with Biden for lunch as they did last week as a counter to Robert Gates’ book bashing Biden?
After lunch he has a tough assignment. He has to spend some time with basketball players. Wonder if he’ll invite them to shoot a few hoops with him?
He meets with the governors. I imagine that will be brief since the majority are Republican. Chris Christie is head of the Republican governors; wonder if they’ll exchange attaboys or give one another the stink eye? This meeting probably won’t take long.
Ditto with Hagel. Hagel probably won’t have much to say since he’s a lapdog for Obama. Besides, who cares about the military anyhow?
Before dinner he meets with Maria Shriver. That’s got to be another wallow in mutual admiration. What is the Shriver Report? Does it need discussing? Is it a national issue?
A little googling showed what it is. Here are some of the topics on its web page: “Ten Things You Can do to Power a Woman’s Nation,” “What Are the Tools Needed to Do It All?” “A Woman’s Nation Pulls Back From the Brink: Powerful and Powerless,” “Here’s Why the Success of Business Lies in Gender Equality,” “How Are the Evolving Roles of Women Shaping Men’s Realities,” and much more. You get the gist. It’s all about victimization.
It doesn’t look to me that she’s been economically suppressed all her life. Nor has Obama, but they’ll probably have a lot of fun plotting out future war on women type strategies.
As for after dinner, you can leave that to your imagination. I don’t think Obama spends a lot of time worrying about foreign policy or agonizing over the failure of Obamacare. He’ll probably find some games to watch and get ready for Michelle’s return from her 24 day vacation.
It’s a tough life!
