Two members of our Midtown Republican Club have stepped up to run for two County Commission spots.
Geoff Diaz, former president of the club, pulled a petition to run for the District 10 seat. He was canvassing our neighborhood yesterday, asking for signatures. His dedicated Republican spirit was braving the bitter cold to knock on doors.
Our current vice president, Beverly Seaton, has pulled a petition for District 8 on the County Commission.
Both would be fantastic and dogged fighters for Memphians.
This is one of the purposes of clubs. We want to inform voters through good speakers. We want to build enthusiasm for our party. We want to help our candidates get elected and we want to provide a way to discover good candidates for the Shelby GOP.
Good luck to them both! I know our club will help them as much as possible.
