Shelby County Republican Mick Wright made this observation on facebook:
The Democrats believe their policies help needy populations, and they’re not necessarily wrong. Let’s say the government had a plan to post agents at appointed street corners to beat and rob every person walking by, then used the collected money for an education fund. Would it help children? In the immediate sense, certainly, factoring some loss to recruit and pay the agents, other overhead costs and the typical levels of waste and malfeasance. Any person objecting to this policy could be labeled anti-children, and repealing the law would be stealing (!) from the children. But is the policy in the long-term best interests of society, or even the children who directly benefit? Certainly not. And that’s why God made a Republican.
This is the exact state of craziness we find ourselves in today.
