Priebus’ Wrap Up

RNC Chairman Reince Priebus sent his thoughts on the RNC spring meeting just concluded in Memphis to Committeeman John Ryder:

“What a successful Spring Meeting! Thank you to Chairman Chris Devaney and Committee Members John Ryder and Peggy Lambert for hosting us in their great state of Tennessee. I’m grateful to everyone who worked so hard this week to strengthen the RNC and our party. Our party is blessed with great leaders.

As we head back home and into the critical November elections, I want to highlight a few key takeaways and accomplishments from our meeting.

Our Political and Digital & Data teams introduced our new Victory 365 program and the tools we are using to engage with voters across the country. We now have more than 90 percent of the RNC political staff working in the field to help local and state parties and candidates as we prepare for the November elections. They are working to provide you with the most up to date voter data, and create a long-term engagement program that will operate 365 days a year.

Chuck DeFeo and Chris McNulty worked diligently to update Executive Directors, State Party Chairs and our Members on the newest tools the RNC has made available for use in the field. These specific tools are available at no cost and provide the most-up to date data and voter contact information. If you are interested in more information or learning how these products can best serve your needs, please contact Chuck, Chris or your RPD.

We voted with an overwhelming majority to amend the rules in order to create a Standing Committee on Presidential Primary Debates. This will allow conservatives to have a greater say in the 2016 primary debates – not the mainstream media.

We adopted a revised budget and several resolutions, and we heard from the Commission on Convention Planning about their recommendations for the 2016 Republican National Convention. Our Site Selection Committee met and will narrow the list of cities in the coming weeks.

Sharon and I also announced five new rising stars of the Republican Party: Amber Barno, Army Veteran, Military Advisor at Concerned Veterans, and Senior Advisor at Independent Women’s Forum; Veronica Muzquiz Edwards, Founder and CEO of InGenesis, Hispanic Business Leader; Lee Jackson, Republican Youth Activist and Member of the RSU 34 Board of Directors; Clarice Navarro, Colorado State Representative District 47; Mike Pantelides, Mayor of Annapolis. The group represents the diversity in our party, and I am pleased they will be working with us to continue to engage voters.

I’m thrilled we had the chance to explore the city of Memphis and learn more about its great culture. We sampled some great barbecue at Rendezvous and spent time at Graceland touring the home of the King of Rock and Roll. We were also honored to be led on a tour of the National Civil Rights Museum by Dr. Alveda King and reflect on the life and legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr.

I want to thank everyone who attended the RNC Spring Meeting and made it such a success. I’m even more confident in our party and our ability to win in November and take back the White House in 2016. Thank you again, and I look forward to continuing this great work in Chicago at our Summer Meeting.”
