Who’s the Most Giving?

Barack Obama likes to say that we are our brother’s keeper (although his half brother languishes in poverty in a hut in Africa). How about we let the facts speak? “In 2004, before Mr. Obama entered the Senate,” says The New York Times, “he and his wife gave $2,500 to charity, 1.2% of his taxable income.” Ann Coulter did a little research and found “for purposes of comparison, in 2005, Obama made 1.7 million – more than twice President Bush’s 2005 income of $735,180 – but they both gave about the same amount to charity. That same year, the heartless Halliburton employer Vice President Dick Cheney, gave 77% of his income to charity.”
