What a Difference a Year Brings

Sit back and enjoy a big, cool glass of schadenfreude with me as we think back on a year ago tomorrow.

That’s the date of the release of the Billy Bush tape in which presidential candidate Trump had made some offensive remarks about women. That was a bad day for Republicans as the press pounced on it. It looked like it would be the decisive blow to Trump’s campaign. The never Trumpers and Dems were drunk with joy as they believed it assured victory for Hillary.

Both John McCain and Speaker Paul Ryan said they could no longer support his campaign and other weak RINOs did the same. They couldn’t run from him fast enough.

Hillary said, “This is horrific. We cannot allow this man to become president.” Running mate Tim Kaine said of the tape, “It makes me sick to my stomach […] I’m sad to say that I’m not surprised.”
Even Tic Tac, which was mentioned in the tape, decried it, issuing a statement on Twitter: “Tic Tac respects all women. We find the recent statements and behavior completely inappropriate and unacceptable.”

It was, indeed, hard to see how Trump could overcome his remarks and there was really no defense of them. If you recall, it was also just two days before the second presidential debate in St. Louis. Anderson Cooper was the moderator said Trump’s comments 11 years earlier amounted to sexual assault. At the end of the debate, Clinton said, “With prior Republican nominees for president, I disagreed with them, politics, policies, principles, but I never questioned their fitness to serve. Donald Trump is different.”

But somehow Trump went on to win. Bigly.

What makes this remembrance so delicious is the timing of the outing of Hollywood liberal/Democrat donor Harvey Weinstein yesterday. He has admitted to sexual misconduct with scores of women that goes way beyond a lewd remark or two.

Now we see libs like his attorney, Lisa Bloom (Gloria Allred’s daughter) defending him as if it were just a slight personality problem. The obvious hypocrisy hits like a nuclear bomb. Added to that, most of Hollywood knew of his proclivities for decades. And most of the Democrat party players who put scruples aside to beg for scraps from him.

How about they all give back money he has given them over the years?

Yes, the timing of this is just God given. Had it been in a novel, reviewers would dismiss it as too unbelievable a coincidence.

And yet, here it is for all to see. Compare and contrast, friends, then pour a big glass of cold revenge.
