Et Tu, Tucker?

After Fox alienated most of its viewers by calling Arizona early, naming Biden as our next president and then insulting conservatives on just about every show they have, many people said they would not stop watching Tucker Carlson’s show. They would happily give up other shows, but not Tucker’s.

“He’s brave. He’s not like the rest. He is fighting for us” were the refrains.

Last night he proved he is as contemptuous as the rest of them. He took the opportunity of his show to lambaste and lie about Sidney Powell. He gave her an earful in his monologue:

“So we invited Sidney Powell on this show, we would’ve given her the whole hour, we would’ve given her the entire week actually and listened quietly the whole time at rapt attention — that’s a big story. But she never sent us any evidence despite a lot of requests, polite requests, not a page. When we kept pressing she got angry and told us to stop contacting her. When we checked with others around the Trump campaign, people with positions of authority, they told us Powell has never given them any evidence of either, nor has she provided any today at the press conference. Powell did say electronic voting is dangerous and she’s right, but she never demonstrated a single actual vote was moved illegitimately by software from one candidate to another, not one.

“So why are we telling you this? We’re telling you this because it’s true. In the end, that’s all that matters, the truth. It’s our only hope, it’s our best defense. It’s how we are different from them. We care what’s true and we know you care too. That’s why we told you. Maybe Sidney Powell will come forward soon with details on exactly how this happened in precisely who did it — maybe she will, we are certainly hopeful that she will. What happened with the vote counting this month and at polling places in Detroit and the polling places in Philadelphia and a so much else actually matters. It matters no matter who you voted for, no matter whether or not you think this election is over. Until will know the answers to those questions conclusively and we can agree on them, this country will not be healed.”

Hmm. Earlier, the knives were out for Sidney from Dana Perino and Karl Rove; Neil Cavuto insisted there was no evidence of fraud. Do you see a pattern here?

Sidney Powell answered in a tweet:

Others on Twitter were shocked at Tucker, backing Powell. Brandon Straka, Walk Away movement: “Very strange move from Tucker Carlson. The pursuit of truth is admirable-but this segment was completely unnecessary. Why is Sidney Powell obligated to go on anybody’s show & lay out her evidence? If she’s a hack we’ll all find out. If she’s got the goods we’ll find that out, too.”
Today Powell tells Maria Bartiromo more after she asked her:

Maria Bartiromo: How did you respond to Tucker Carlson? Did you get angry with the show because they texted you and asked you to provide evidence of what you’re alleging?

Sidney Powell: No, I didn’t get angry with the request to provide evidence in fact I sent an affidavit to Tucker that I had not even attached to a pleading yet to help him understand the situation and I offered him another witness who could explain the mathematics of the statistical evidence far better than I can. I’m not really a numbers person. But he was very insulting, demanding and rude and I told him not to contact me again in those terms.

That’s a very different story from what Carlson said.

Carlson is just as self serving as the others on Fox. The only response is “click.”
