Did you hear President Obama’s Easter message? No? That’s because there wasn’t one.
While every other president has issued a statement on major holidays, this one chose to ignore Christianity’s most important event. He has, however, sent out messages for Ramadan and the other 7 Islamic holidays. His press secretary Jay Carney was questioned about this yesterday.
“The president went to church yesterday and it was well covered,” said Carney, laughing. “I’m not sure if we put out a statement or not but he obviously personally celebrated Easter with his family and went to church to celebrate that.”
A reporter shouted “Wait a minute! The highest Christian holiday – you don’t know if he put out a statement? Jay, come on!”
Jay shook his head. “I’m glad you’re asking key important questions, guys. He took his family to church in a high profile way,” he repeated.
Kind of explains the picture of lightening hitting the White House Sunday night, doesn’t it?
