The Commercial Appeal headline reads “Leftist groups meet for Midtown protest.” I knew they were referring to the First Congregational Church in Cooper-Young, host of ACORN, Van Jones and Code Pink people. There had been an earlier story about the event planned to protest the Tennessee legislature’s new bills and the defunding of Planned Parenthood. The subhead, however, said “Rally draws hundreds in opposition to recent state legislative proposals.” Hundreds sounds impressive. Then you read the story which said “about 200 people” attended. Not even a definitive 200. The Tea Party turned out many more than that in their events. I’m unimpressed.
