The September Conference Board reported consumer confidence had a slight rise from 45.2 to 45.4. Whoopee! It also reported that the “jobs hard to get category” went from 48.5 in August to 50. This is the highest number since 1983. There just isn’t confidence out there about employment. Bad, too, is that Americans expected to buy a car went from 13% in August to just 11.4% now.
