The unemployment number stayed at 9.1% for September with a gain of 103,000 jobs.
On the surface, the jobs number may seem good; however, 45,000 of those jobs were already employed Verizon workers returning from their strike. Manufacturing declined by 13,000. Real unemployment went from 16.2% to 16.5, the highest since December 2010. That means that we have more than 40% of the eligible population not working. In addition, the average unemployment time went to 40.5 weeks. That sets a new record.
I agree with two comments. “Don’t buy the hopium” wrote one. Another said, “the more they manipulate the greater the coming crash.”
