Job Claims Move Up

The media is spinning today’s jobless claims number as unchanged. Once again, they are playing the shell game with us.
Last Thursday we were told the number was 367,000. Today’s was 370,000. How is this unchanged? It is if you slyly move the number up to 370K during the week.

ZeroHedge notes that “what is worse is that the exodus from the cliff continues, as those off EUCs and Extended benefits declined by another 68K (and down by 1.14 million from this time last year): people who no longer get their weekly allowance from Uncle Sam and having been without a job for 99 weeks are pretty much guaranteed to not find a job, thus making them rely exclusively on disability and foodstamps.”

Isn’t this just what the Obama administration wants?
