Let’s hope Mitt Romney continues firing back at Barack Obama before Obama defines a narrative for him. He started to yesterday in Pennsylvania. Bring it on – and more! It’s really not that hard. Romney doesn’t have to go flame thrower; he just needs to toss it back at him. This should be easy.
For instance, when Obama brings up something about Romney’s success, wealth, offshore accounts – whatever – all Romney has to say is this: “Interesting that you should bring that up, Mr. President. Because I was wondering about your (fill in the blank: house, loans, records, school information).” There is certainly a lot to question about Obama’s road to college, his house deal with Tony Rezko, his “autobiography,” to name a few. “You talk about being your brother’s keeper and have one languishing in Kenya.” Throw these into the sunlight and see if they survive.
Or, when it comes to policy, thrown that back at him. “Funny, Mr. President, you talked about transparency in government, yet no one saw the health care bill before it was passed. You want more taxes on the rich, but you extended the Bush tax cuts at the end of 2010. You said you could keep your own doctor in Obamacare, but clearly you can’t.”
It doesn’t have to get personal, Mitt, although be prepared for it to be personal for you. Church of the Latter Day Saints, for instance, is going to get bashed, indirectly by Obama. Stick up for yourself and start asking questions about Black Liberation Theology. That’s something that will shock the nation.
Time is slipping away and the stakes are high. It’s not just about you. It’s about us. It’s about the U.S. and its very survival.
