Harry Barber, running for TN House district 88, dropped by the Midtown Republican Club meeting last night to remind us that his district race includes parts of Midtown.
“An arm of the district comes by the Zoo and Victorian Village,” he said, but “it also includes parts of Frayser and Raleigh,” the 20 year Navy veteran explained. “It has been very gerrymandered.”
Barber will be going up against Larry Miller, “a very pro public union guy who’s been in the legislature for 20 years,” Barber explained.
“I’d like to help the people of Frayser, particularly with school vouchers,” Barber said of his candidacy. He understands how important a good education is to the people of his district.
The Northeast Shelby Club will be holding a Pasta and Politics fund raisers for candidates this Saturday, September 8, at Coletta’s restaurant. If you’d like to attend, you can contact shelbygop.org for details.
