Over the past four years we’ve lost track of all of Obama’s accomplishments.
For example, he’s added 43 new czars to our already bloated government. Remember, these people are not accountable to Congress. They weren’t approved by them or nominated by them. These czars are all for and by Obama. Here’s the list, courtesy of Patriot Update blog:
In alphabetical order President Obama’s czars as of this writing are: Afghanistan/Pakistan Czar, AIDS Czar, Bailout Czar, Border Czar, Car Czar, Cyber Security Czar, Copyright Czar, Climate Czar, Central Region Czar, Disinformation Czar, Domestic Violence Women Czar, Drug Czar, Education Czar, Economy Czar, Energy and Environmental Czar, Export Czar, Government Performance Czar, Faith-Based Czar, Health Czar, Health Insurance Czar, Homeland Security Czar, Great Lakes Czar, Green Jobs Czar, Guantanamo Closure Czar, Information Czar, Intelligence Czar, Labor Czar, Middle East Peace Czar, Pay Czar, Regulatory Czar, Safe Schools Czar, Science Czar, Stimulus Accountability Czar, Sudan Czar, TARP Czar, Technology Czar, Terrorism Czar, Tobacco Czar, Urban Czar, War Czar, Water Czar, Weapons Czar, and Weapons of Mass Destruction Czar. In addition to these existing positions, several new czars are under consideration including: Zoning Czar, Student Loan Czar, Voter List Czar, Radio-Internet Fairness Czar, Mortgage Czar, Land-Use Czar, and Income Redistribution Czar.
Central Region Czar? Does flyover country not have governors and state legislatures? Or are we too dumb to operate? Disinformation Czar? Shouldn’t that be the media? Faith based Czar? Does he monitor churches and charitable giving? Sudan Czar? Seriously?
Safe schools czar is what we used to call police, parents, principals and local government. Radio internet fairness czar? I think Stalin had some of these, too, and Lenin’s favorite was the Income Redistribution Czar.
You can imagine all these big shots have their own staffs and probably enjoy nice offices and all the perks their titles can get them.
Patriot Update reminds us
No executive in the world has more administrative and policy support than the president of the United States. In addition to the President’s Cabinet, Barack Obama has a personal staff of 469 assistants to the president—a record number—almost all of whom are paid more than $100,000 per year. In addition to this figure, factor in the cost of the benefits, staffs, and offices for 469 presidential assistants. With that done, consider that there is an army of junior presidential assistants supporting the presidential assistants and another army of and secretaries supporting the junior assistants. All of these staffers—taken together—support the president. That’s a lot of support. It is also a lot of money to spend during a time of high unemployment, record-breaking budget deficits, and an anemic economy.
On the other hand, maybe Obama has a point. At home I could use a grocery czar, a trash accountability czar, a yard czar and a bathroom czar. Certainly a dog poop removal czar would be useful, but he’d need a better title than that.
And, maybe Obama has overlooked a few czars himself, such as a Nutrition Czar, Attitude Czar, Exercise Czar, Racist Czar.
In an Obama second term, we’d probably get them – and a whole lot more!
