Today’s candidate is our own Congressman Steve Cohen.
You’d think he’d resist the allure of twitter after he caused a hubbub when he tweeted about a hot young girl who happened to be his daughter.
Well, discretion isn’t something Cohen particularly does. According to the Politico:
“Rep. Steve Cohen appears to have sent and then deleted an eyebrow-raising tweet to performer Cyndi Lauper.
“‘@cyndilauper great night, couldn’t believe how hot u were.see you again next Tuesday.try a little tenderness. http://t.co/zz4Orccryf,’ read a tweet from the Tennessee Democrat’s verified Twitter account, which appeared on the website Politwoops, a project of the Sunlight Foundation that documents deleted tweets from lawmakers.
“Michael Pagan, a spokesman for the Memphis-area congressman, said Cohen had ‘no comment.’
“According to Politwoops, another tweet to Lauper was up for only 34 seconds.
“‘Cyndi,Wow what a night!See you next Tuesday and Try a little tenderness again!Wow!What a special night. Thanks Steve,’ read an earlier tweet.
“In January, he tweeted, ‘Cyndi Lauper at Dem luncheon at Italian embassy/true colors which should b our anthem.'”
Some people like to get their names out front. You’d think they would not be swayed by celebrities at his age, but then you’d guess wrong.
Lauper probably shrugged and asked who the hell Steven Cohen is.
