Yesterday this site suggested that the Boston bombing would be blamed on sequestration and, by their own connection, Republicans.
Just a few hours later, Steny Hoyer fulfilled the all too easy prophecy. House Minority Whip Steny Hoyer (D-Md.) said the bombings are “clearly another place where it demonstrates why having the ability to address security concerns is important…I think there are multiple reasons for ensuring that we invest in our security both domestic and international security. That we invest in the education of our children, that we invest in growing jobs in America and don’t pursue any irrational policy of cutting the highest priorities and the lowest priorities by essentially the same percentage.”
He was joined by two other congressmen in this, too. How long before senators do it, too?
Actor Jay Mohr has joined in, blaming the bombings on America’s gun culture. Huh? What gun was found there? They are so hoping it’s a conservative who did this.
Salon has joined others in the media with this hope. Today they say “let’s hope the Boston Marathon bomber is a white American.” Why? These people are crazy.
It’s scarier to me that there are people who turn so quickly against their fellow Americans rather than an enemy. A bombing kills a few people; the media wants to kill the American spirit and American history.
That in the long run will be responsible for more American deaths than a single bombing.
