It’s infuriating when our fellow Americans decide they are too busy or too cynical to engage in politics. Republican Congressman Louis Gohmert of Texas has the same frustration and put it well with this advice:
Get involved in watching what is coming out of Washington. I had a lot of friends in high school say Louie, I don’t care what government does as long as they leave me alone. Well guess what. When you don’t care what the government does, it does not leave you alone.
People have got to start noticing…We are the government. We hire on the hiring day called election day. Examine those people (who are candidates), look at their resumes, interview them … people have got to get more responsible or we’re going to lose the greatest gift that God has ever blessed the people with and that is this great nation.
